Being a goalkeeper is a particular position; a unique one I’m also the last bastion within a team of 11 players. I wanted my watch to reflect my story and the life I’ve had on and off the field, the hardships I’ve encountered, my victories, but also my defeats, And always keeping in mind that the Keeper of my legacy, my greatest ally, is Me.Gigi Buffon
The Project

Everyone fights against time. For Artisans de Genève, as for Gigi, time rhymes with experience, expertise, and other adjectives that symbolize those moments that make dreams come true. In craftsmanship, there is time to learn, a time to do, a time to be wise, and a time to pass on. Like a goalkeeper, solitude is part of every watchmaker’s daily life. Each teammate is the guardian of a craft and the last link in a timeless know-how.
L’Heure Solitaire

Gigi wanted his watch to embody this solitude. Going beyond the timepiece to express a singularity that distinguishes him. Therefore, the mono-hand was an obvious choice.
Time never stops. Sometimes we would like it to go by faster; other times, we would like it to stand still and capture it. It follows its course, always in the same direction. It’s also said that time naturally takes care of things; it’s true. My watch is like me, as I imagined it: unique, recognizable, and solitary… It’s me. What I like most about this watch finds its meaning when I tell the story.Gianluiggi Buffon
The Colors
Focus
Blue and red are the two colors that best embody Gigi’s story. The color blue for the most stunning victory and red for the obstacles he has overcome. A Harmony of colors, infused with life and full of poetry.
Our Signatures

Hand
The mono-hand is more than symbolic; it embodies a life story. Gigi is undoubtedly one of the greatest goalkeepers in football history. The hand is entirely hand-beveled, flame-blued, and backed by a hand-painted red tip. It represents solitude and accuracy, finesse and strength.
Dial
For Gigi’s project, we had to create and develop a bi-material dial for the first time to tell the time from 5 minutes to another 5 minutes while letting the skeletonized and hand-decorated movement show through.
Bezel
Entirely hand-machined from a block of stainless steel, the bezel is adorned with a hand-made “clous de Paris” guilloche finish, a nod to his career. This technique, typical of antique watches, gives Gigi’s watch a contemporary look.
The Realization

We realized for the first time a cut of the 3235 caliber, requiring hundreds of hours of work. We rethought every single element: sandblasted and beveled plate, polished balance bridge, open-worked dial, a combination of contemporary textures blended with the heritage of Swiss expertise. A hand-machining on the watch lugs, giving the illusion of a wave bringing that brings light and softness to the piece.
