We have always had a great respect for Lenny Kravitz’s work and it was a great challenge to shape a watch to his image. Together we made the extraordinary bet to combine modernism with reliability, while preserving the features of classic watches. We also wanted the case itself to be a unique piece, blending the universe of watchmaking with musical arts.
This personalization has been requested by a private customer. It is a sample of our know-how and of the personalization services made upon request of our customers. The The Lenny Kravitz LK01 Challenge blends modernity with classicism, while bringing vintage touches inspired by Lenny Kravitz’s favorite models. The case of the original Rolex® Daytona® 116523 has been treated in black DLC. The ceramic bezel was replaced by a handmade golden bakelite bezel. The dial, also modified by hand, displays gold markings and timers as well as the famous red Daytona marking that we preserved.

I’ve been collecting watches for more than 20 years now and have always had a special affection for classic timepieces, loaded with history and life. When I met Artisans de Genève, I immediately seized the opportunity to create my own version of the classic watch. It was also extremely important that the timepiece was to be made by true experts without any compromise in the quality.

We replaced the bracelet of the base Rolex® Daytona® 116523 by a Barenia calf leather strap, specially designed by Lenny Kravitz and entirely made by hand.

The Rolex® 4130 movement is entirely treated in black and holds a 22ct gold rotor which can be glimpsed through a transparent back 100m waterproof. Both, the case and the rotor are Artisans de Genève’s signature.
