Creativity has been at the heart of the workshop since our inception. Our work almost always involves gathering everyone’s memories and moments to transcribe them into horological language. Combining different craftsmanship or arts to bring back to life, through each project, these often intangible moments. Bringing surprising colors to forgotten arts to revive, even for a moment, ancient techniques and memories laden with savoir-faire.


Artisans de Genève responds to a client’s request by embarking on a new bold project. Tantalum, known for its robustness and density, nearly impossible to work with, requires complex craftsmanship.

The dial has been completely redesigned to offer a perfect smoked burgundy gradient. More than 52 versions were necessary to achieve the perfect combination of shades, from the lightest to the warmest. The sub-dials are sky blue lacquered and varnished. Each white gold appliqué is diamond-cut on each facet before being satin-finished by hand.

With the watch back visible, the client wanted to harmonize the movement and the case back so that the two components blend together. Each bridge is decorated, bevelled and circled by hand before receiving a tantalum-coloured anthracite treatment to perfectly match from the case back to the bezel.

Rotor

The rotor led to a new development to be able to machine it from a raw tantalum block. Sandblasting, Geneva stripes and laser engraving are then applied to give it all the necessary brilliance.

Bridge

Fashioned from a block of hardened steel, the balance bridge was bevelled with a file to give it a perfectly rounded appearance. This rigorous technique requires hours of work in the workshop. The mirror polish is also entirely done by hand.

Hands

The hands were developed specifically to meet our client’s desires. The hour and minute hands are refined and diamond-cut on each facet. The chronograph hand and the sub-dial hands are made of black-gold and struck around the edge of the head to bring more technicality and structure.

night, a Super-LumiNova treatment has been applied to the seconds hand, to the dots on the hours, as well as to the word ‘DAYTONA®.’
